Isabel Hanes

Counseling Intern

While my personal practice incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques as well as an appreciation for the relationship between physiological health and mental wellness, I mainly approach the process of individual change and growth from an existential and humanistic mindset. I seek to help my clients find meaning and purpose, live in accordance with their values, and meet life’s many challenges with confidence and contentment–without changing what makes them unique. The best stories come with a heaping dose of conflict and adversity–it’s how we rise to these challenges that defines who we are.

I am beyond excited to be joining the Shore clinical team in 2024 as the clinic’s first official graduate intern. After completing my B.A. in Psychology at UW - Madison and spending a year working with Milwaukee families in the Birth to Three program, I began working at Shore Clinic in an administrative capacity to learn the inner workings of a mental health practice as I pursued my professional counseling license. I am now completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health as well as Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Mount Mary University, under the supervision of Ellen Reid, LPC. I look forward to putting my education and perspective towards the benefit of my clients by integrating the latest evidence-based practices with a holistic, individualized approach to therapy.
